Which union?

July 1, 2009 by BM 10 Comments

This Blog was published in 2009 and should have set the alarm bells ringing in the Hospital Services Union and Fair Work Australia What has Fair Work Australia got to hide and why have allegations of serious financial conduct in the Health Services Union not yey been fully investigated after 2 years

Which state secretary of a controversial union found out that his wife was having an affair with an Fair Work Australia commissioner?

He sent a rather terse e-mail to the commissioner saying “I know you’re fucking my wife” . His wife is the current federal secretary of the same union.

Not only did he send the message to the said commissioner but to every other commissioner, causing consternation at Fair Work Australia.

The commissioner is the head of the panel that conducts all the hearings of the union of which the women is the federal secretary . At the same time she was appearing before her lover, her union was under investigation by Fair work Australia alleging financial mismanagement by its executive members.
Fair work Australia is tainted by the fact that these 2 are able to appear together compromising the independence and integrity of the organisation.

Now that’s what you call a nod and a wink, the federal secretary puts a case on behalf of her members to the bloke she was doona dancing with the night before. I should also mention that this women is influential in right wing politics within the Australian labour party.

All members of the commission have now been rotated so that this pair do not appear together again – at least not in the same court room. The pair are as popular as a pork chop at the rabbi’s picnic in commission circles .

I always thought that the union movement was a bit incestuous but this goes to new levels, about as low as the basic wage I reckon.!!

This is a scandal of epic proportions within industrial relations circles. Both participants have severely compromised their positions to practice in this arena and both should be dismissed from their current positions.

The Fair Work Australia has tried to hide the facts, but by rotating the commissioner to head other panels is in itself a admission of knowledge of the grubby affair.

The Australian industrial relations commission is supposed to be impartial, but how can it be if this is an example of the lengths they will go to hide the facts?

A prize to the person who can name the union!!

Comrade, how did you guess? Have got many other intimate details in relation to another union officer connected to the HSUA
and I believe a major newspaper ran the story last week .The losers in this battle for power are the members the officials are a disgrace to the union movement.
Good to hear from you Noel

The HSU is the worst union, if one could call it that, I’ve ever come across. I was a paid member for over five years, but when the crunch time came, when my boss was trying to boot me out the door, it was the delegate and the people I asked to help at head office who turned around and stabbed me in the back. So after I resigned, I cut up my membership card and sent it back to the pricks.

Darren I could not agree with you more, the HSUA was once a good union that represented its members well.

The problem with the current leadership is that they got involved in Labour party politics.

The Labour party then has complete control not only within the union but within labour party conferences.

Its all about votes delivered to these conferences and no longer about rank and file unionism.

pity the rank and file members of the hsu having to make a choice between the crop of deadbeats attempting to gain control of the union.
we had a hsu member at the nursing home where i work who had a problem with management and she was told by the hsu organizer that management can do whatever they like talk about bloody weak

Noel, thanks for the info about the H.S.U.A elections. This is very disturbing material being put out.

The dead hand of the A.L.P is involved here and the minister for communications Steve Conroy has his fingerprints all over this type

of defamatory material , senator David Feeney [A.L.P] is also involved .

I said last week that the downfall of the union began when Jackson involved himself

in A.L.P politics ,the labour party will chew up and spit out people like Jackson when he is no longer of use to them .

In the mean time they will let him play the role of minor kingmaker until he is caught out.

Ask yourself where is Jackson at the moment ? Where is Shaun Hudson ? I can answer for Hudson, he has been told to sit at home until October next year on full pay,

yes thats October 2010, on full pay out of your union fees!!

hello denis yes i don’t know what to make of the hsu they seem to do bugger all for the rank and file members i have given up signing up new members i’m too embarrased to have good people joining a union that does next to nothing for them .i have no time for that kathy jackson and i believe that the sooner the likes of her are removed from the scene the better off the union will be , another murky piece of work is marco bolano i dont trust him i am convinced he is a jackson stooge fancy shaun hudson and jeff jackson receiving all that money to stay home and do nothing no doubt the rank and file have paid for all that i am allways concerned at work that if we have a major problem with management what level of help we would receive from the union a p poor level of help i should imagine all the best
