The IBAC investigation, ‘Watts’, has gone into recess till next year .
The investigation into the blatant misuse of taxpayers’ funds to initiate branch stacking by certain members of the ALP has apparently snared some unlikely figures beside the usual run of the mill Labor party functionaries.
It is now apparent from his own admissions that Adam Somyurek and his partner in grime (sic), Marlene Kairouz, yet to appear because of a breakdown, were up to their necks in the blatant misuse of taxpayers funds for out of hours electoral work (ie branch stacking ).
Electoral officers of both Somyurek, Kairouz and others were mentioned in evidence as being involved in the said taxpayers rorts.
Apparently it’s a crime to engage staff using taxpayers money to stack ALP branches out of hours but it’s not a breach of ALP rules to do so.
I’m now authorised by IBAC to comment in writing and on air on the summary of evidence so far, but will fall short on making accusations until the commissions report is finalised.
I expect that many electoral officers, electoral staff and other less than important hangers-on will be waiting with bated breath for the outcome of findings and may be seeking employment in other diverse fields of endeavour.
Long dead George Seitz known as the king of the stackers even got a guernsey along with former mayors, ethnic warlords and rank and file members.
Some of those mentioned have already lost positions within the Labor party but have gained positions within the taxpayer funded heath industry, but more of that later.
Disclaimer
I have been a member of the working class from the age of 15. I was a militant union official for 40 years and a member of the international federation of journalists for 30 .
I have worked alongside of these thieves of working class principles for that time, so, as the old saying goes, I know where the bodies are buried. So disappointing!
