Be careful what you wish for

Diana Asmar never speaks to her husband
Diana Asmar
The Melbourne Herald Sun newspaper, in its extreme haste to extol their anti-union bias, recently published an article by the now secretary of the Hospital Workers Union, Diana Asmar.

The name of the union has been changed from the Hospital Services Union, once controlled by well known and now convicted thief, Kathy Jackson.

The name change was to distance itself from Jackson, and also to protect the very dubious reputations of Diana Asmar and the rest of the officials now in charge. After all, Jackson is as popular as a pork chop at the Rabbi’s picnic .

For the same reason, the newspaper article purported to be written by Asmar. To reinforce the good things happening now at the union and inform the readers of the state of the union Jackson left it in.

Firstly the article was not written by Asmar, but a functionary of the right wing of the ALP. How do I know that? It’s easy. Diana is flat out writing a sentence, much less a newspaper article.

What was left out of the article was Asmar’s own battle with authorities and judgements made against her at Fair Work Australia and the Royal Commission into union corruption.

First, let’s look at the judgement at the FWA. The Vice President Graeme Watson when deciding on the case brought before him where Asmar was accused, along with previous office manager Kimberly Kitchin,g of sitting right of entry tests for organisers at the union, described the evidence given by Asmar as “inherently unlikely”

A right of entry certificate is issued after sitting a comprehensive test issued by the government to ensure that it’s issued to a fit and proper person to enter workplaces.

Vice President Watson said that the six right of entry exams that were performed on the 5th February 2013 were on “the totality of evidence” performed by Kimberly Kitching with the knowledge of Diana Asmar .

Vice President Watson went on to further state “I do not accept their denials as truthful or reliable”

Watson went further to state that he found it likely that Kitching also completed Asmar’s test as well,“making false declarations and failing to meet training …are serious matters that strike at the heart of the integrity of the right of entry permit system ”

All organisers have now had their permits revoked, including former councillor Nick Katsis who, along with Asmar, left his position on Darebin council among accusations of dubious dealings with developers. Because of this, the Ombudsman appointed an Administrator to oversee the day to day workings of the council.

The council was forced to take legal action to recover mobile phones from Asmar as well as the $18,000 in unpaid phone bills .

This is the woman along with Kitching the Royal Commission recommended be charged with PERJURY.

We all agree Jackson is a crook , but Asmar is in the same boat .

The pot calling the kettle black.
