In actual fact a serial thief by the name of Josh from North Sunshine will sell you the box it comes in minus the vacuum cleaner .
Josh from North Sunshine is a regular advertiser on Gumtree because on the site you can sell anything under a bodgy name ,no checks no balances you could probably sell your children for medical experiments .
Josh goes one better he has a cardboard box that once contained a new beaut vacuum cleaner but it’s a empty as Josh’s head , but not his bank account ,put a photo of the empty cardboard box and watch genuine punters fall in .
Josh doesn’t work alone though he has a westpac account in the name of Elyse Greene BSB 733 -689 account 742 714 so it looks like Josh has to share his ill gotten gains with his girlfriend or his mum if he has one
Appearing everything is kosher ,the account is still active and Westpac have been informed of the criminal actions of these two .
Until Gumtree take their obligations responsibly and thoroughly vet advertisers this sort of theft will continue
I wont go into the details about the number of people Josh and Elyse have conned with bogus Gumtree advertisements
The lesson here is that if you see a Dyson V10 top notch vacuum cleaner on gumtree don’t be fooled it’s a empty box
If you want to conduct business on Gumtree make sure it’s done in person or don’t hand over your money until you have the product in your hand .
Fortunatly the police are now onto Josh and Elyse Greene and charges are expected soon
My informant has now lodged a complaint with Gumtree they have a legal obligation to ensure that serial thieves such as Josh and Élysée are not allowed to use Gumtree as a carriage to rob people .
